New York-based interior designer Ryan Korban has a flair for bold graphic designs and plush vibes, both of which are luxuriously evident in his fabulous new design for luxury shoe boutique Aquazzura’s new Midtown space. Not only is the space flawlessly designed, but the furniture is covered in STARK fabric: Glamour Velvet in Carnelia, Oxygen Wide in Black, and Open in Fog.
Such a visually impressive design has naturally attracted the attention of the media, and Korban’s design has now graced the electronic pages of everything from Harper’s Bazaar to Architectural Digest.

When asked “why pink” by Harper’s Bazaar, Korban explained, “I thought, let's pick one color because it feels iconic. And how do we make it become a neutral? The answer was really just to use it in excess.” So much in excess that it even appears on the custom grout between the marble tiles!
Korban elaborated on visions of the space for Architectural Digest: “From the beginning we thought, let’s really go for it. The biggest challenge with retail spaces is how to draw people in. It’s refreshing to work with a brand with a major fun factor.”
The grandeur of the fun is evident everywhere throughout the dazzling space, from the pink marble floor tiles, stunning chandeliers, and gold shelving to the expansive marble-top table and impressively stylized sofas that STARK helped bring to life.

The shop was also named by Racked as one of New York City’s most architecturally impressive stores. “Decadent and feminine, the shop exudes a classic Italian reverence that feels far from fusty,” they gushed.
